Requesting an article

Is your article not in the catalogue? Request it. The article becomes visible to everyone and you can add it to your collection right away.

Where do you start?

  • In the Catalogue, below the search results: Is your article missing? Request it.
  • In your Collection, at the top: + Request an article.

Step by step

  1. Open the request window.
  2. Fill in the article number as printed on the box, and the variant if any.
  3. Choose the category and the manufacturer. The more you fill in, the faster a moderator can approve it.
  4. Type a description and choose the language you write it in. The other languages are added later.
  5. Choose Request and add.

Does it already exist?

If an article with this number already exists, the site shows the similar articles: "Do you mean one of these?" Pick one of them, that is almost always better. If it really is a different article, choose No, this is a different article: request it anyway.

What happens next?

  • The article is in the catalogue with the label Requested: "requested by a member, not yet reviewed". Others see that the data may still be incomplete.
  • You can add it to your collection right away, so you do not lose track of the item.
  • A moderator reviews the article and approves it or adjusts it. An article nobody uses can be deleted; an article that is already in someone's collection cannot.
  • Completing or correcting it afterwards works with Propose a change (see Changing an article).

Limits

To prevent abuse you cannot have more than 25 requests open at the same time and can request at most 10 per day. If you hit the limit you get a message and try again later.

Request or own article?

  • Request if the article really exists and other collectors can have it too. It becomes public.
  • Own article if you made it yourself, if it is unique, or if you want to keep it private. Only you see it.
